The Arkansas Community Foundation (ARCF) has announced the creation of the Fordyce Survivors Fund in response to the mass shooting on June 21 in Fordyce, Arkansas. 100 percent of donations to the fund will provide financial support for survivors of the shooting. ARCF will partner with Victim’s First, a volunteer-led nonprofit helping with immediate needs, along with the Mass Violence Survivor’s Fund—national entities with experience serving communities following more than 50 mass shootings nationwide.

Earlier this year, two trends gaining momentum neared a collision in California’s restaurants and bars. One was a statewide ban on junk fees — here defined as anything over and above the items purchased on a particular visit to a shop, hotel or other establishment. The other?
