Hundreds attend FOP Lodge #75’s ‘Fly-In Pancake Breakfast’
MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) - The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 75 had a morning of fun, food, and flights at the return of its annual pancake breakfast on Sunday. The event was held at the Michigan City Municipal Airport, and in partnership with the FOP Lodge, the airport gave out free rides on two different planes! OrthoWorx Awarded Grant to Educate Area
OrthoWorx was awarded a grant from the Don Wood Foundation to educate middle school and high school students about careers in manufacturing and entrepreneurship. With this funding, OrthoWorx will embark on an effort, in partnership with Indiana-based iXplore, to broaden the reach and exposure to orthopedics career pathways for 8th and 9th grade students across the region, beginning in year one with Warsaw, Whitko, Wawasee, and Tippecanoe Valley School Corporations. This will be accomplished by building an immersive experience deployed through pop-up Virtual Reality (VR) roadshow events.
Scattered storms and high humidity
The humidity is on the rise. Tonight will feature high humidity, mostly cloudy skies, and a 40% chance of scattered showers. Brief, heavy downpours are possible as well but much of the area will stay dry tonight with lows falling into the upper 60s. Scattered showers and storms are possible every single day this week besides Wednesday. It will stay muggy which will push heat indices into the 90s most of the coming week. Highs may hit 90 on Wednesday with partly cloudy skies and dry weather. The severe weather risk remains low this week as of now, but any stronger storm could have heavy rain and gusty winds up to 40-50 mph. Highs in the 80s and the oppressive humidity likely last into the coming weekend.
