Athletic Department Revenue: Latest Scoreboard Has Oklahoma State 42nd
STILLWATER – The factors have all been outlined previously as Oklahoma State University only sponsors 16 varsity sports in the athletic department, eight men’s sports and eight women’s sports. All of them are NCAA sports with the exception of equestrian, which competes as an NCEA school. Oklahoma State recently finished as a lopsided winner 21-9 over the University of OKlahoma in the annual Bedlam Cup, the ninth time in the past 11 school years that OSU has been on top. Oklahoma State finished No. 19 in the 2023-24 Learfield Director’s Cup, which measures overall athletic department excellence. It is the fourth straight top 25 finish for OSU. Okay, what about bang for the buck?
Taking Stock of Big XII Transfer Classes: Oklahoma State
For all intents and purposes college basketball's 2024 transfer season is over although some schools could still add one or two more players prior to tipping off in November. However, in this age of highly paid transfers, many coaches could opt for quality over quantity, meaning they'll concentrate their NIL funds on several elite transfer prospects rather than scatter those finite moneys over more marginal prospects in an attempt to fill all 13 scholarship spots. They may prefer to roll the dice on injury and other attrition with nine or 10 scholarship players. Texas Tech, incidentally, has filled only 11 scholarship positions as of this writing and could stand pat. This is a calculated risk Grant McCasland and other coaches may be willing to run.

Daily Bullets (July 8): Big 12 Days This Week, Pokes Win Lots of Close Games
Thanks for stopping by – here’s your daily dose of Oklahoma State sports news. • Big 12 media days is in Las Vegas tomorrow and Wednesday – 247 Sports’ McLain Baxley has five questions for the Cowboys (247 Sports) • Keeping up with OSU’s 2025 Wrestling recruiting class (PFB) • HCS is predicting the Pokes go 7-2 in Big 12 play, 10-2 overall – one of the big arguments against the Pokes is the expectation that they’ll lose some of the close games they won last year. The only unfortunate flaw in that argument is the Cowboys win a lot of those games.
