Alabama toddler pulled from pool on 2nd birthday is ‘fighting for her life’
The family and friends of Violet Mae Satterfield are raising money for her medical care after the toddler was pulled from a pool Monday in Arab. According to her family, Satterfield and her family were celebrating her second birthday when she sneaked into a swimming pool without her floatation devices.

Sen. Gudger injured in July 4 jet ski accident
Sen. Garlan Gudger, R-Cullman, was airlifted to UAB Hospital after a jet ski accident on Smith Lake on Thursday. Gudger was in intensive care late Thursday after a “brief surgical procedure to address internal bleeding,” according to a press release from the Alabama Senate. He sustained other injuries that are being monitored.
