Find out who won Daily Leader Athlete of the Week poll for March March 11-16

Isabella Bunting has gotten off to a fast start to the 2024 track campaign, which has led to the Dwight thrower to being voted the Pontiac Daily Leader's Athlete of the Week for the week of March 11-16.

Bunting placed first in the shot put with a mark of 35 feet, 4.8 inches at an indoor meet hosted by Westmont.

Bunting brought in 206 votes, which was 41.87 percent of the overall total on the Athlete of the Week poll this week. Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell ace hurler Shae Simons received 135 votes (27.44 percent) for second. There were 492 votes cast.

The rest of the nominees were softballers Elena Krause of Pontiac, Ella Derossett of Woodland-Flanagan-Cornell and Mikayla Ziegler of Lexington-Ridgeview, baseball player Braeden Barber of Lexington and thinclads Graham Meister and Tyler Gubbins of Dwight.
