Tiger shutout streak continues in 40-0 win at Elysian Fields
Every team wants to kick off their district schedule in the strongest method possible. Few teams can say they’ve started district as well as the 2023 Daingerfield Tigers. After Friday’s win at Elysian Fields, the Tigers are 3-0 in district play and have yet to allow a point in the district schedule. The Tigers jumped out to a 33-0 halftime lead and kept the Yellowjackets off the scoreboard on their way to a 40-0 win. The Tigers found several ways of scoring so nice, they did them twice. Chase Johnson threw two touchdown passes to Kenny Mosley in the first quarter covering 16...

Deposits of Time
The man’s head hung low. He sat with his knees up. He was staring into the dirt by his feet and writing his life in the sand with a stick. Or so it seemed. I watched ... on purpose, those walking by him ... and they were laughing at whatever one of them said, chatting, and moving along to their next destination. I’m sure he didn’t see them except for their fast-moving feet. But you could hear their joy, as I did. Those last few people didn’t see him either. Not really ... I’d say. I waited to see if one might turn around...

Lights out: Tigers roll to Homecoming win over ND after hour-long light delay
Every team on Friday nights hopes to deliver a “ lights out” performance. The Daingerfield Tigers may wish portions of Friday’s game didn’t take that saying quite so literally. Homecoming night in Daingerfield also featured a nearly one hour delay when one bank of stadium lights went out. Crews worked to get the lights back on, but the lights went out again early in the second quarter. A temporary light was used in the affected portion of the field, allowing the teams to finish the game. The Tigers provided all the electricity needed as they rolled to a 42-0 win over New Diana. “Our...
