Five years after graduating from Dallas County High School as class valedictorian, McGee is the community outreach coordinator for the Selma Resilience Initiative, a venture out of The University of Alabam a’s Culverhouse College of Busines s.

“It is with great joy that I can say I’m coming back home,” McGee said. “I’m looking forward to all the possibilities of this opportunity and all those I’ll meet along the way.”

Since graduating from DCHS, McGee built an impressive resume. McGee graduated in May with a Master of Business Administration from Manderson Graduate School of Business .

McGee graduated from the University of Alabama and earned a $1,000 study abroad grant from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. McGee was also named 2023 outstanding senior by the University of Alabama National Alumni Association. Past winners of the award included softball pitcher Montana Fouts, U.S. Sen. For McGee, it is about coming home and honoring his parents as a first-generation college graduate.

“I never thought that there would be such a great opportunity for me to come back home right after graduation,” McGee said. “This opportunity is the perfect way for me to take all that I have learned from my time at UA and use it to make an impact here in my hometown of Plantersville/Selma/Dallas County.”
