Criminal Court Building Updates Will Be Apart of Tuesday’s Dallas County Supervisors Meeting
The Dallas County Board of Supervisors is set to meet on Tuesday to discuss the latest with the new criminal court building in Adel. The board will be given a schematic design presentation as well as a proposed schedule for bond referendum pricing from Turner Construction. Other items on the agenda seeking approval include a construction update, a pay application, and contingency update for the new administration building in Adel, a filming location agreement, and a pay application for the courthouse restoration project.
Second Meet Me in Minburn Event Happening on Wednesday
The second event in a summer series in Dallas County is coming up on Wednesday. Meet Me in Minburn is a series throughout the summer inviting people to come hang out, try delicious food, enjoy free skating, and live music. The first session was held on June 8th, and Megan Cline with the Minburn Community Betterment Group tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it was a successful event.
ISU Intern Helping in the Perry Community with Mental Health
An intern with the Iowa State University Extension & Outreach in Dallas County shares the necessity of public gatherings in relation to mental health. Laurel Waterman is one of two interns that were hired as part of the ISU Rising Star program to work alongside the Perry Chamber of Commerce. Waterman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that following the January 4th shooting, Dallas County was looking to bring in more resources, which led to the decision to bring on a couple of interns.

Iowa Republicans, Democrats plan presidential debate watch parties
DES MOINES, Iowa — On Thursday night, President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump will meet on a stage in Atlanta forthe first presidential debate of 2024. Dallas County Republicans are hosting a Trump convoy and watch party. They will meet in the Younkers parking lot at Valley West Mall at 6 p.m. Thursday. From there they'll make their way to the West Des Moines Marriott on Jordan Creek Parkway, where supporters will watch the debate. There will also be sign-ups for voter registration, door knocking and poll workers.

Teenagers are invited to watch a free movie on Friday in Dallas County. The Perry Public Library is encouraging teens to stop by on Friday to watch a free movie. The movie is taking place in the Community Room from 3-5pm as the library will provide snacks, but welcomes participants to bring a cozy blanket or a pillow.
