The NBA offseason officially began when the Boston Celtics eliminated the Dallas Mavericks to win the NBA Finals. This is a slight change from previous years, as the league’s new CBA permits teams to begin negotiations with their own free agents immediately after the Finals conclude.

As free agency approaches, certain players have their focus elsewhere, as the Paris Olympics are also right around the corner.

There was some uncertainty as to whether or not Mavericks star Luka Doncic would suit up for Slovenia this summer, as he had just finished a long and banged up playoff run, but it was announced officially on Monday that he had joined the Slovenian national team.

Doncic dealt with several different injuries throughout this postseason, but did not miss any time. This was one of the major reasons why his status was in question for the Olympics, but the star guard is expected to begin practicing with the team this week in preparation for Paris.

The Paris Olympics are loaded with basketball talent, as many of the NBA’s best players are set to represent their countries. While Team USA looks to have the best roster on paper, there are several other teams with some of the best NBA players in the world.

This Team USA roster is one many believe could be the most dominant in the program's history, which is saying a lot when looking at some of the previous teams. The heavy favorites to win gold, Team USA will have to go through stars like Doncic in order to do so.
