Dallas fire crews were on the scene as flames and smoke billowed into the air over the First Baptist Dallas Historic Sanctuary.

The Victorian-style church was built in 1868 and is a Texas Historic Landmark.

Pastor Jeffress took to X on Friday night and said, “To our knowledge, no one is hurt or injured, and we thank God for His protection. He is sovereign even in the most difficult times.”

The fire caused a partial roof collapse in the 19th-century building. Crews reportedly had the flames under control before they ignited again.

Local media did not report any injuries at this time.
