Former Star Offers Intriguing Take On Cowboys Fans, Dak Prescott

As the Dallas Cowboys get ready for the 2024 season, there are some concerns over the team’s future. While the Cowboys have had a lot of regular-season success with some very talented groups in recent years, they haven’t been close to being a threat in the playoffs.

It feels like every year the Cowboys have found ways to disappoint their fans in the postseason, and there has been a lot of speculation about changes coming sooner rather than later in Dallas.

After an embarrassing loss at home in the playoffs to the Green Bay Packers last season, many thought we might see the end of Dak Prescott or Mike McCarthy in Dallas. However, Jerry Jones decided not to make major changes and is running it back once again.

Many people believe that Prescott is never going to win the big one in Dallas, and he has certainly taking a lot of criticism for being overrated.

While many franchises would likely take Prescott as their starting quarterback, the Cowboys and their fans have Super Bowl expectations every year.

Recently, Prescott was named the most overrated player on his team, and former wide receiver Greg Jennings agreed with that statement.

Is Dak Prescott’s time with the Cowboys coming to an end?

Prescott being called overrated does seem like a fair statement considering his inability to win big games for Dallas. While his statistics generally look very good at the end of the season, he has a knack for beating up on some of the bad teams in his division like the Washington Commanders and New York Giants. However, when the Cowboys need a big game from him or a big throw, he doesn’t deliver nearly as much as he should.

In addition to being called overrated, Jennings also mentioned that Prescott isn’t the best player on the offense. That is certainly true with CeeDee Lamb at wide receiver, as he is one of the best at his position and makes Prescott’s job much easier.

If Dallas and Prescott don’t have success in the playoffs this season, it is hard to imagine that he will be on the team in 2025. Jones has been shockingly patient with the Cowboys’ core group, but he is not afraid to make a big decision. A change at quarterback and head coach could very well happen if they don’t win some playoff games.

While the criticism of Dak Prescott might be rough, it is very fair.
