    Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

While quarterback Dak Prescott would love to stay with the Dallas Cowboys, it's clear he's contemplated suiting up for another team.

At training camp on Thursday, Prescott opened up about his future with the Cowboys, admitting this upcoming season could be his last in Dallas.

"I want to be here, but when you look up — all the great quarterbacks I watched played for other teams," Prescott said, via Jett Beachum of CBS News Texas. "That's not something to fear. It may be a reality for me one day. It may not be my decision. That's the freedom that I have."

Prescott is entering the final year of a four-year, $160M deal with a no-tag and no-trade clause. On a recent episode of ESPN's "Unsportsmanlike Radio," Adam Schefter said an extension for Prescott could be worth more than $60M annually, which would make him the highest-paid player in the league.

It's unclear if the Cowboys are willing to pay Prescott, but Dallas owner Jerry Jones insists he wants the former fourth-round pick to stay with the club.

"I don't think so," Jones said Thursday when asked if Prescott will leave in 2025, via NFL.com's Bobby Kownack . "Just to be very specific, I do not think that this will be his last year with the Cowboys at all. … It's pretty clear, I think, I wouldn't say it if it hadn't been clear, of how much we appreciate what Dak Prescott has meant to this team in a positive way."

Jones and company should extend Prescott soon. Otherwise, he will become a free agent in 2025, increasing the chance he plays elsewhere.

Prescott, who turns 31 on July 29, should attract plenty of suitors if he excels again this upcoming season. In 17 games last season, he finished first in the league in passing TDs (36) , second in QBR (72.7) and third in passing yards (4,516).
