Dan Orlovsky Flames Jerry Jones, Cowboys Over CeeDee Lamb Contract Feud

It's been an odd offseason for the Dallas Cowboys as the front office has made minimal moves. Additionally, they have multiple star players in need of a new contract including CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, and Micah Parsons. As of now, Lamb is holding out as he aims to sign an extension before the start of the 2024 NFL season.

With that in mind, ESPN's Dan Orlovsky couldn't help but flame Jerry Jones and the Cowboys for how they've handled this offseason . During a segment on Get Up, Orlovsky called out the franchise for being "the cheapest organization" in sports. Orlovsky also claims the Cowboys "won't win" without CeeDee Lamb.

"They don't want to spend money right now. The Cowboys, who are the most valued organization in all of North American sports are the cheapest organization, as of now, in all of North American sports... Without CeeDee Lamb, this team has absolutely no shot."

It's hard to imagine a Cowboys offense without CeeDee Lamb considering he's been one of the best wide receivers in the league for several years now. Dak Prescott targets Lamb often as the passing game is the driving force for this offense. Last season, Lamb finished with 135 receptions, 1,749 yards, and 14 total touchdowns, all career highs.

If a deal can't be done then Dallas very well could be without its best player on offense. So, it's hard to disagree with Dan Orlovsky. Especially when you look at the rest of the roster. Brandin Cooks is the only other receiver with true experience, as the remainder of the wide receiver room consists of young or unproven players.

Additionally, the running back situation is nothing to gloat about as the Cowboys will be leaning on Ezekiel Elliott once again. Elliott is not the same running back he used to be and the guys behind him are in the middle of the pack in terms of talent in the NFL.

It's an interesting time for the Cowboys right now as their future is unclear. With that said, we should expect to see Dak Prescott under center despite not having a long term contract in place.

The good news is that Dallas should still have a great defense that's led by Micah Parsons. But his contract situation will be even more under the spotlight by next offseason if a deal isn't reached this year.

Due to the contract woes in Dallas, the Cowboys will likely remain in the rumor mill. With star players not being locked down for the long term, many will speculate some kind of trade to potentially come to fruition before the mid-season deadline.
