‘Go Mavs!’: Klay Thompson Puts On Show at ZEKE-END Tournament

As the NBA offseason progresses through its "dead period," star players participating in open runs and basketball tournaments help satisfy die-hard fans' itch for some NBA action .

Over the weekend, newly-signed Dallas Mavericks star Klay Thompson made an appearance at the "ZEKE-END" basketball tournament and put on a show. Not only was Thompson knocking down 3s as expected, but he also showed off his passing ability off drives as well.

"Go Mavs!" an excited Thompson told the Home Team Hoops camera ahead of his game.

Given how lethal Thompson was on the offensive side of the floor with Steph Curry as his running mate for so many years, one can only imagine the kind of damage he should be able to do playing alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving next season.

Everyone knows about Thompson's ability to hit the long ball, as he's currently at No. 6 on the NBA's all-time 3-pointers made list, but if he can find other ways to be involved on offense, that will only increase the Mavs' versatility.

One intriguing scenario to consider is Thompson developing good on-court chemistry with Dallas big men Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford. As seen in the clip below, Thompson had started to form a comfortable connection with Golden State Warriors center Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Lively and Gafford already have great chemistry with Doncic and Irving, as that was one big factor that helped the Mavs advance to the NBA Finals last season. If Thompson can do the same, the offensive potential for Dallas during the 2024-25 season is limitless. If they can remain somewhat healthy, the Mavs will be a threat to win it all for a second consecutive season.
