256,444 Photographs from NASA’s Glenn Research Center Added to National Archives (NARA) Catalog
We’re pleased to announce that 256,444 photographs from NASA’s Glenn Research Center have recently been added to the National Archives Catalog. The photos document facilities, personnel, and aeronautic and space technology development at the Glenn Research Center (GRC) in Cleveland, Ohio and at Plum Brook Station1 in Sandusky, Ohio. Also included are publicity photos, as well as images documenting various types of accidents. The photographs in this series were taken between 1943 and 2004; as such, many of the photos are credited to NASA in addition to its predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA).

Lake Erie Charter Life
Captains were few and far between in 1979, when Tibbels Marina in Marblehead, Ohio got into the fishing charter business on Lake Erie. A few years earlier, in 1975, the state had 46 captains on Lake Erie. A few years later, when the Tibbels family launched its first boat, there were about 156. With walleye and yellow perch populations fluctuating over the decades, so did charter numbers — with a high of 1,229, in 1989. Now, there are 936 captains in Ohio, with most operating out of the Western Basin.
Cedar Point’s new Boardwalk Nights event kicks off this weekend
SANDUSKY, Ohio – Cedar Point kicks off a new signature summertime event this weekend, Boardwalk Nights, with entertainment, games, food, dancing and more fun. I paint rocks as a hobby, hide them in public places & watch for them to be posted on Ohio Rocks fb pages.
