DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — To help families get the services and supplies they need ahead of the school year, the Vermilion County Health Department and OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center will be holding a Back to School Bash on Thursday.
Danville AMBUCS gives summer fun to kids with special needs The event will take place from 2-6 p.m. at the Vermilion County Health Department, located at 200 South College Street in Danville.
Eleven organizations will be in attendance. That includes OSF HealthCare, which will provide required physicals and immunizations for kindergarten, sixth, and ninth grade students. The Illinois Soybean Association will also offer diapers, diaper rash cream, prenatal vitamins, water, snacks and more.
Other organizations and individuals include:
- Birth to Five Illinois
- CRIS Senior Services – Grandparents
- Raising Grandchildren
- Fair Hope Children’s Ministry
- iGrow of Vermilion County
- Kruger’s ATA Martial Arts
- Project Success of Vermilion County
- Representative Brandun Schweizer
Danville Village Mall building sold with more entertainment, dining on the way State Senator Paul Faraci (D-Champaign) will also be in attendance, and he hopes to see many families there.
“The Back to School Bash is a wonderful opportunity for families in Vermilion County to receive the resources and support they need prior to the start of the new school year,” he said. “I’m thrilled to see so many organizations coming together to support the families in our communities.”
