Opening Act Performing Arts will be launching a new program on July 8. They will be having a youth performing arts summer camp that will culminate with a fully staged performance of Disney and Pixar’s “Finding Nemo KIDS.”

Throughout the week, students ages 4-11 will engage in auditioning, rehearsing, and performing in an exciting production. While this is a performing arts camp, campers will also participate in summer camp classics such as games, arts and crafts, making memories, and making new friends.

Staff members and student leaders will lead the campers into the “Big Blue World” of Finding Nemo and they hope the community will come out to support the students, many of whom have never stepped foot on stage. The student leaders are made up of local middle and high school performers who have experience on stage, but also want to be a part of something bigger.

They are eager to help young performers fall in love with the theatre and they are excited to make a positive impact with local elementary school students.

The performance is on Friday, June 12 at 5:00 pm at the Gravely Hall Performing Arts Center in Danville High School. Tickets can be purchased in person or online by going to Opening Act’s F acebook pag e.

Opening Act Performing Arts is a Danville-based nonprofit organization which allows kids to gain theater experience, and they put on several shows per year.
