John Deere Confirms More Layoffs, Cuts in Salaried Workforce
John Deere has confirmed it plans to layoff more workers through cuts in its global salaried workforce according to Corridor Business Journal. Deere didn’t release details on the number of salaried employees affected. The most recent round of cuts follow more than 600 previously announced layoffs of Deere’s production workers at three facilities in Illinois and Iowa. The company didn’t say when the additional salaried workforce positions would be eliminated.

Man Dies After Tragic Fall at Illinois' Starved Rock State Park Near Chicago
A tragic accident took place at Starved Rock State Park late Saturday afternoon, resulting in the death of a man. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources confirmed the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. within the Illinois Canyon area of the park, which is located roughly 90 miles southwest of Chicago. A man was killed in a motorcycle hit-and-run crash early Saturday in the north suburbs.The crash happened around 2:10 a.m. at 967 S. Watkins, was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he was involved in a crash with another vehicle, according to Des Plaines police.The motorcycle hit sedan that was exiting a plaza and turning onto Elmhurst Road, police said.Watkins was discovered unresponsive in the roadway when the Des Plaines Fire Department arrived, police said.
