Somerset boy, Diman student, with dreams of being a firefighter saves girl at Fall River restaurant
A local teen with dreams of becoming a firefighter showed he is well on his way after springing into action to make a rescue. According to the Dighton Fire Department, Dighton Junior Firefighters candidate Ben Courville, while out to dinner Sunday at the Fall River 99 Restaurant with his mom Christine Courville, noticed that a girl was choking.
Two transported to New Bedford hospital after early morning crash on Route 79
Multiple people were taken to a trauma center after an early morning crash. According to the Lakeville Fire Department, responders were dispatched for a car versus a utility pole just before 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning on Route 79 (Myricks Street). Ambulance 3 and Engine 1 arrived at the scene within 6 minutes.
New Bedford Police charge man that has 70 arraignments in connection to last month’s stabbing
“NEW BEDFORD – Detectives have charged a man in connection with a stabbing that took place earlier this month. On June 14th, patrol units responded to Harvard St. in the Presidential Housing development in response to an adult male who had been stabbed. Upon arrival, the victim presented with several wounds, and it was learned that two suspects had attacked him. The male was transported to the hospital and is making his recovery.
