CHARLOTTE, N.C. — All lanes of I-77 S near Sunset Road are closed after a crash that killed one person and left another with life-threatening injuries. The crash happened late Friday afternoon, shortly before 5 p.m. on I-77 S near mile marker 15 in north Charlotte, according to the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Brunswick murder suspect caught in Charlotte, NC
22 year old Ta’Quan Waye of Brunswick was apprehended in Charlotte, North Carolina last week in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Xavier Williams Sunday in the Glynnvilla Apartments area. Waye, who was released on parole July 10 from Hancock State Prison where he was serving a 10-year sentence for a theft by receiving stolen property conviction, is now facing charges in Glynn of murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information can call Brunswick City police Det.
