    North Carolina man wins $240,760 lottery jackpot after buying $1 ticket at grocery store

    MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Scott Hill, of Davidson, bought a $1 Cash 5 ticket Friday night and won a $240,760 jackpot, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

    Hill bought his winning Quick Pick ticket from the Harris Teeter Fuel on Griffith Street in Davidson.

    The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 962,598.

    He claimed his prize at lottery headquarters on Monday.

    After required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $172,145.
