Authorities in Washington Co. make arrest, confiscate contraband at state prison

WASHINGTON CO., Ga. (WJBF) – Washington County Deputies, Davisboro Police Department, and Georgia Department of Corrections Staff were busy with drug and contraband interceptions at Washington State Prison in Davisboro, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

Sheriff Joel Cochran wrote, “Local and State Law Enforcement work tirelessly together trying to curtail this illegal behavior and activities. This behavior creates unhealthy and unsafe environments for not only the facility personnel but also the inmate population along with the citizens that encounter these criminals that come into the area making these attempts…You are not welcome in our community and the citizens of our community do not deserve your kind coming here invading their spaces. Great Job to all involved in these cases…”
