Boone Little League All Stars advance
Following an opening round bye, the Boone Little league All Stars opened play Sunday representing the State of Iowa in the 2024 Little League Central Region Intermediate Baseball Tournament. Boone took advantage of an 8 run first inning and a timely RBI triple by Duke Darby late in the game to defeat Ohio 13-9. Darby connected on a pair of RBI triples to lead a balanced Boone offence.
Bulldog Softball ends season at No. 6 Fort Dodge
The Le Mars Community softball team finished their season on Saturday at the hands of No. 6 Fort Dodge by a score of 11-1 in five innings. The Bulldog bats went silent most of the night recording just three hits off of Fort Dodge pitcher Lucy Porter. Le Mars head coach Brooke Berkenpas says she was in command of her pitches, and that kept the Bulldogs from getting anything going.

Chargers Sports Seasons Finished for Now
The AC/GC Chargers are on hiatus for now, with both summer ball seasons earlier this month. The baseball team finished 2-23 on the season, with the softball team finishing 13-13. For now, there are no games for the Chargers until the fall seasons begin, but team get togethers, practices, open gyms and weight lifting are taking place. Games for football season begin August 30th, with the session opener in Ogden, with volleyballs season to begin August 22nd with a tournament at Des Moines Christian. Boys and girls cross country starts August 29th at Gowrie Municipal Golf Course.
