Doon man arrested on strangling charge
DOON—A 28-year-old Doon man was arrested about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, on a charge of domestic abuse assault impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury. The arrest of Joshua Jeffrey Van Schepen stemmed from a 911 call regarding a domestic assault in progress at a residence in Doon, according to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

ARL sheds new light on nearly 30 dogs, puppies rescued in Webster County
BADGER, Iowa — The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is shedding more light on dozens of dogs rescued in Webster County last week. A search was done at a home near Badger. The sheriff's office says 29 dogs in total were seized and relocated. The ARL took six of those dogs.
