Spotty showers continue into tonight
Clouds and showers are keeping temperatures cooler today with highs in the 60s to mid-70s. Spotty, mainly light showers remain possible Monday afternoon and evening. Mostly cloudy skies are expected overnight with likely patchy fog and a few widely scattered showers. Wednesday won't see nearly as much rain as Tuesday, just some widely scattered showers from time to time. Temperatures will remain on the cooler side again with highs in the 60s to low 70s.
Critter Chatter – A New Chapter
As noted in last month’s article, rehabber Don Cote at Duck Pond Wildlife Care Center was hospitalized for a week in late May. I’m relieved and happy to report that his recovery at home is going well and as we expected, it didn’t take long before he started taking calls about orphaned and injured critters. In fact, we recently purchased a new answering machine with a volume enhancer so he doesn’t miss any!

The Boothbay 36ers may be down, but they are not out of the Maine State American Legion tournament. Skowhegan defeated Boothbay, 4-3, on July 22 in the Maine State American Legion Senior Baseball tournament. Skowhegan earns the No. 1 south seed in this weekend’s state tournament in Bangor. Boothbay will be the No. 2 south seed. The 36ers will play at 4:30 p.m. on July 27 at Mansfield Stadium. Each of the four state tournament participants also play a Sunday game.

Three injured in Scarborough crash
SCARBOROUGH, Maine — Three people were injured in a crash in Scarborough on Tuesday. It happened in the area of 162 Route 1, near the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store.
