Anthony J. Albright is running for City Council in Dayton. “As a candidate for City Council, I wanted to share my vision for our community,” he said. “Dayton is more than just a place. It’s my forever home, and its future matters deeply to me.”

Community engagement: He believes in active participation. As a representative of the people, he said he will create avenues for dialogue. Town halls, neighborhood gatherings, and digital platforms will be spaces where community voices shape decisions. Together, people will build a stronger Dayton. The current format does not allow much time for public comment and does not take full advantage of the available technology to advertise and promote transparency. He would advocate for change on that front.

Fiscal Responsibility: He said, “Our budget isn’t just numbers; it’s a reflection of our priorities. I commit to responsible financial management. We’ll invest wisely, ensuring essential services thrive while maintaining fiscal discipline. That is not to say I will ignore our needs as one of the fastest-growing communities in Hennepin County. I plan to fully investigate our priorities and opportunities for investment as well as savings.”

Infrastructure and Development: Dayton deserves well-maintained roads, parks, and public spaces. Strategic investments will enhance quality of life. Let’s create a vibrant, accessible city for all. We need destination-amenities in our parks and the infrastructure to get there.

Transparency and Accountability: Trust is vital. “I promise transparency in every decision. The public will know why and how choices are made. They will have input and oversight over those choices. Accountability ensures that I serve you faithfully. City Councilors are not your leaders, they are your servants,” Albright said.

He said, “On Aug. 13, let’s choose a path that honors our past and embraces our future. Together, we’ll make Dayton shine brighter than ever.”
