Black Barn Pickleball Court Coming to Dayton

As detailed in a recent article , Dayton will soon have its first dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball space. Owner of Black Barn Pickleball Court, Mike Bettencourt, has broken ground at the site of the project at 4740 Linden Ave.

Bettencourt tells What Now Columbus that the project will be rolled out in phases, with phase one aiming to open by the end of this year. When the project is complete, the site will include outdoor courts, along with two buildings. Currently the only places to play pickleball in the Dayton area are at parks or other areas that have tennis courts.

“My mission is to create a dedicated indoor and outdoor pickleball court for Dayton,”  Bettencourt said of the project. “There’s a demand for indoor use during our winter months,” he continued.

The next phase will begin shortly after the first building is complete and with the second building, the plan is to put in the electrical systems that will allow food trucks to park onsite. Bettencourt said he’s currently looking into installing a self-pour beer tap system as well as considering other food and beverage options at the site, but the options won’t be available until at least next year when the second phase is tentatively slated to open, so nothing has been confirmed just yet.
