    1 dead after Helena Street shooting, police investigating

    DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A stretch of violent days in Dayton continues, after police find one person dead inside a home.

    Police responded to a 911 call on Wednesday morning around 11:45 a.m. on North Main Street. Their investigation led them to West Helena Street, where officers found a man who had been shot and killed.

    Flames spread to 2 additional Dayton homes

    Police were directed to to the vacant home by someone nearby. After finding the victim, investigators got to work finding out who owns the building.

    It is unknown if the victim lived there — or what the cause of the shooting was.

    Police have not released any suspect information or details about the person who died.
