Coroner IDs 2 men found dead in a vehicle last week on Hoover

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The coroner has identified the two men found dead in a vehicle last week on Hoover Road near Cleverly Road.

Officers were called to a shooting scene on Cleverly Road on Thursday, July 18, where they found one man with gunshot wounds who was transported to the hospital.

While on scene, the officers then discovered a vehicle crashed into a nearby home. Inside, they found Damarius Underwood, 18, and Dejuan Hooker, 25.

Police said that since the incident occurred in broad daylight, they hope witnesses will come forward to help with the investigation.

“At this point in time. We have no suspects at all. People have of point of interest people of interest,” said Dayton Police Sgt. Creigee Coleman.

“We need the public’s help in order to solve this crime. Because somebody possibly saw something, somebody possibly heard something. If you have ring, doorbell, camera, please get with the police department or the regional dispatch center so we can solve this crime and bring closure to this family.”

Dayton Police say the Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information or security footage from this incident is urged to contact Dayton PD at 937-333-COPS.
