UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa (WTAJ) — No. 4 Penn State opened its season up with a huge bang defeating No. 8 Texas Tech 4-0 in women’s soccer.

The Nittany Lions dominated in the first half and opened the scoring in the sixth minute on a goal from Jordan Fusco. 10 minutes after that Fusco was back at it as she set up Kaitlyn MacBean for another goal to put the Lady Lions up 2-0.

In the 24th minute Penn State would strike again as Rowan Lapi found the back of the net. The Lady Lions put an exclamation mark on the half and the win when Aubrey Kulpa scored just before halftime.

Mackenzie Gress started in net and she stopped both shots she faced to shutout the Red Raiders.

Penn State plays again next Thursday when it hosts Virginia at 5:30.
