HAGERSTOWN, Md. ( DC News Now ) — A Hagerstown man has been arrested after he was accused of threatening to burn down the house he was renting.

Maryland State Fire Marshals took Randy Siglar into custody charged with making an arson threat.

Officials said Siglar’s landlord told him that the home he was renting would be put on the market for sale. That’s when Siglar made the threat, according to officials.

“When she told him she was going to sell the residence, he stated back to her that he was going to burn the residence down,” Edward Ernst with the Maryland State Fire Marshal, said.

Ernst said that this is not the first time Siglar has faced similar charges.

The homeowner is working with the state’s attorney’s office, Ernst said.
