Maryland woman dies after shooting in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police said a woman from Maryland died in the hospital after someone shot her in Northwest D.C. early Friday morning.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), officers were near the 700 block of Florida Ave. around 12:15 p.m. when they heard gunshots.

Police found evidence that a shooting took place, but did not locate any victims.

A short time later, MPD found out that a woman who had been shot was being treated at the hospital. Lou Loni Jordan, 23, of Waldorf, Md. died there.

As of Friday morning, MPD had made no arrests. Police asked anyone with information to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
