Both men charged in brutal Portage-area slaying are headed to trial
VALPARAISO — It appears both men charged in a brutal slaying last summer at a public fishing area near Portage are taking their murder cases to trial. An Aug. 5 trial date has been affirmed for Domonic Brothers, 28, of Gary, and Jada Monroe, 29, of Virginia, is scheduled to face jurors Oct. 1, records show.
