Rotary Ramble to pound pavement on Aug. 10
DeMOTTE – The 43rd annual Rotary Ramble 5K race will kick off at 8 a.m., CST, on Saturday, Aug. 10. Between 500 and 600 runners and walkers are expected for the race. The race is most notable for its “trophies” of authentic wooden shoes, which are given to the top three male and female overall winners as well as the top three finishers in each age and special run or walk division. Raffle prizes will also be awarded before the results.
Blythe's Sports Shop spot in downtown Griffith being revived by Pelcher Outdoors
Outdoorsmen flocked to Blythe's Sports Shop in downtown Griffith for 72 years. Now another long-running gun shop in the Region will take the store over. Pelcher Outdoors, which runs Pelchers Shooters Supply at 18149 Henry St. in downtown Lansing, is buying the Blythe's Sports Shop Griffith store, where it plans to open its first Indiana location.
