Phase Two of Hobart Roundabout Construction to Begin Monday, last thru October
Hobart, IN – Construction on the State Road 130/State Road 51 roundabout will move to phase two on Monday, July 8, leading to intersection closures through early September. According to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), the second phase will focus on the south and east legs of the roundabout at State Road 130/State Road 51/Hobart Road and State Road 51/Cleveland Avenue. During this phase, the intersection will be fully closed to traffic. State Road 51/Cleveland Avenue will be closed from Liberty Street west of the intersection to Cleveland Terrace east of the intersection. State Road 130/Hobart Road will also be closed from just north of the intersection to just south of the intersection.

It was just six years ago when Ignite Medical Resorts first began offering its advanced physical therapy services in Kansas City. Today, the organization is well on its way to becoming a nationwide phenomenon with 22 locations across seven different states. Three of those locations reside in Northwest Indiana in Dyer, Crown Point, and Chesterton – the latter recently acquired in June of this year – giving Region residents easy access to five-star, resort-like rehabilitation care.

Indiana is chock-full of places to enjoy antiquing or shopping for vintage goodies, but according to some, one location serves as a prime hunting ground. As a longtime Star Wars fan, I'm always looking for new places to browse for vintage collectibles. Most recently, I recently secured an original Kenner "snow speeder" from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, that was in pretty rough shape. I had to repair a few broken pieces, replace the stickers, and even order a couple of new parts. But with a little elbow grease, I soon had it restored to it's original, or at least, near original condition. It was a fun project.
Gary Will Not Get $600 Million Energy Plant
GARY — Fulcrum BioEnergy will not be putting a plant in Gary to turn household waste into jet fuel. This $600 million plan was in the works since 2018, but Fulcrum failed to meet the deadline to close on the property. Fulcrum recently laid off many employees.
Officer Returns to the North Judson Police Department
The North Judson Town Council members extended an offer of employment to Frank Thomas to become the next Chief Deputy Town Marshal for the North Judson Police Department. The offer was for full-time employment to begin Monday, July 1. He accepted and was given his badge by Town Marshal Kelly Fisher.

KENTLAND — The Rensselaer Softball Association’s 12 and under team rocked South Newton, 16-4, to claim a tournament title in Kentland last Friday night.
