At least two sobriety checkpoints will be set up this weekend at the Jersey Shore, according to authorities.

In Deal, police will screen motorists on Ocean Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Saturday. All northbound vehicles will be pulled over into the Deal Casino Beach Club parking lot where officers will interact with drivers to determine if they are impaired, according to the Monmouth County DWI Task Force.

In Spring Lake Heights, police will screen motorists on Route 71 from 9 p.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday. All southbound vehicles will be diverted onto Passaic Avenue where they will also be pulled over and the drivers spoken to by officers for the same screening purposes, said Allenhurst Police Chief Michael Schneider, task force coordinator.

At both checkpoints, local police officers will be working alongside task force members during both four-hour operations.
