Petition seeks to remove DA from office
A petition was filed mid-week with the 97th District Clerk seeking the removal of 97th District Attorney Casey Hall for “incompetency or official misconduct.”. The document was filed by Tim Cole, former DA and longtime area attorney, on July 17. Texas law allows any resident of the county where the allegations occurred to file such a petition on any elected official.

Wichita Falls Fire Department pays tribute to fallen firefighters
The Wichita Falls Fire Department held its 40th anniversary memorial service Friday at the Wichita Falls Public Safety Training Center to honor the department's fallen. The room was lined with current WFFD members and young firefighters in training. Retired firefighters sat amongst the crowd which included their families and local city officials.
