Top-70 prospect Brady Koehler announces top five schools, sets official visits to all of his finalists
By SAM LANCE NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Class of 2025 four-star Brady Koehler has narrowed down his recruitment. The 6-foot-8, 180-pound forward from Cathedral (IN) and the Indy Heat Nike EYBL AAU program will be focusing on Northwestern, Iowa, Notre Dame, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. The head coaches of all of his finalists were spotted to see him play at Peach Jam. Koehler will visit all of these programs in the fall. But what does he think of his top schools? Northwestern: “Coach [Chris] Lowery has been recruiting me for a year and a half now. So I’ve built a good relationship with him. And coach [Chris] Collins, same thing with him right there. They come out to my games.” Official Visit: Aug. 1-3 Iowa: “I like their coaching staff a lot. I haven’t really seen their campus yet or seen how they play. But coach [Sherman] Dillard and coach [Fran] McCaffery come out to a lot of games and show me love, so I like that. To be honest I don’t really know a lot, but that’s why I’m going up there.” Official Visit: Aug. 29-31 Notre Dame: “I mean I love Notre Dame. I’ve been up there like four or five times now and the coaching staff is great. The way they run their offense is really similar to my high school so that shouldn’t really be a hard transition if I decided to go there.” On head coach Micah Shrewsberry: “I think really highly of him. He’s a great coach and he’s a great guy to be around. So I like him a lot.” Official Visit: Sept. 6-8 Wake Forest: “They’re one of the schools that offered me early just like Notre Dame. So I’ve been over there two or three times now. Same thing they run a really similar offense to my high school and it would be an easy transition. I just love the coaching staff there so.” Official Visit: Sept. 13-15 Virginia Tech: “Same thing. The coaching staff, there’s a lot of similarities between all of these schools with the coaching staff. I feel like I just have a great relationship with all of these guys and they come out and show me love a lot at these games. I like seeing them in the stands to know they really want me and it’s not just them throwing an offer out there.” Official visit: Sept. 27-29 At Peach Jam, Koehler averaged 6.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game playing alongside talented scorers Jalen Haralson and Jeremiah Fears. He also tallied seven blocks across the five pool play games. Indy Heat went 2-3. Koehler is ranked the No. 65 overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports. He not only puts in work on the court, but off the court as well. He has a 3.9 GPA and wants to study business in college.
