PCM Softball Defeats Clarke in Regional Semifinals
The PCM softball team defeated Clarke 1-0 in the Class 3A Region 2 semifinals on Saturday night. The #8 ranked Mustangs outlasted the Indians in a fierce pitching battle with both teams trying to keep their seasons alive. Rylee Parsons was the starting pitcher for PCM pitching four innings only giving up one hit while Camden Webb pitched three innings giving up three hits. Tori Lindsay had the lone run in the contest for the Mustangs. PCM Coach Shaun Hudnut said his team played great defense all around.
City of Osceola says water crisis isn't over, despite rising water level in West Lake
OSCEOLA, Iowa — The water level of West Lake is nearing normal pool elevation for the first time in three years — but city leaders say the water crisis isn't solved yet. The lake was sitting at 1,071.27 feet as of July 3, according to Osceola Water Works. That's three feet higher than it was this same time last year. Normal pool elevation is 1,072 feet. The last time the lake reached that level was in May 2021.

CORYDON, IA, (July 09, 2024) - Two people were killed in a head-on accident Tuesday morning near Corydon in Wayne County. According to the Iowa State Patrol, a Ford F-150 driven by a 19-year-old was eastbound on Highway 2 at about 7:32 a.m. when the Ford crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Camry near County Road S40, just east of Corydon.

In the fall of 2020, Osceola lost a friend in Rick Courcier. At the young age of 37, after a long battle with cancer, Rick passed, leaving a legacy of community dedication and impacting each and every person he’d met. To memorialize Rick and all he gave to Osceola, his closest friends, his family, the staff at Osceola’s Park and Recreation, the City of Osceola staff, and City Council took action, building a new shelter at the Osceola Sports Complex. “Rick’s Shelter” is a special project intended to continue Rick’s dedication to the community and help perpetuate his love of the life he, his family, and friends experienced through the programs.
