Mustangs’ season ends at Martensdale
The Murray Mustang’s baseball season ended on Saturday at Martensdale in round one of Class 1A Substate 8 play 10-0. Wyatt Patton had two hits for the Mustangs, making it to first base both times. Keegan Chew had one walk, and AJ Clarke was hit by pitch. The Mustangs struck out 10 times.
North Mercer Board of Education increases student lunch prices, announces new hires
The North Mercer R-3 Board of Education voted on July 8 to increase the price of student lunches for the upcoming school year by 10 cents. The new prices will be $2.60 for preschool through sixth grade and $2.85 for seventh through 12th grade. The price of adult lunches will be determined at the August board meeting.

Mustangs run wild in regional opener
AFTON — Nothing could stop the Mustangs Monday in Afton as they defeated the Eagles 24-0 in three innings. Nine of the Mustangs’ runs came from wild pitches or errors from the Eagles defense. They put up 16 runs in the first, seven of the nine batters scoring twice in that inning.

Eagles fly past Saints in districts win
AFTON — The Eagles (16-6) put their offense on display Saturday at home against Mormon Trail (6-9), winning 11-1 in six innings to advance in district play. Sophomore Paul McNeill went 3-4 at bat for two RBIs and a run to lead the Eagles batting. Terrian Islas and Ty Tallmon both went 2-3 at bat. Islas had two runs and one RBI while Tallmon had one run and two RBIs.
