Former Kalamazoo Township manager pleads no contest to willful neglect of duty
KALAMAZOO, MI — Former Kalamazoo Township Manager Dexter Mitchell has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of willful neglect of duty as a public officer. Mitchell entered the plea Monday, July 22, in front of Kalamazoo County Circuit Judge Pamela Lightvoet. He had been charged in February with one count of felony eavesdropping for allegedly recording a private, closed-session meeting between township board members and the township attorney in March 2023.
