The Turkey Valley softball team looked to start the Class 1A postseason strong; however, a comeback launched by West Central (9-14) ended the Trojans’ plans Monday. Area Student to Participate in Governor’s Charity Steer Show in August
The 42nd Governor’s Charity Steer Show will be held August 10th during the 2024 Iowa State Fair. The director of the Iowa Department for the Blind is resigning as she battles kidney cancer, she said Tuesday. Emily Wharton has served as the department's director since 2016. Prior to that, she served as the department's technology director. Wharton, who is blind, also is a former graduate of the department's Iowa Blindness Empowerment and Independence Center.
