Island Haven Animal Sanctuary Hosts Summer Program “Treasured Tails”
Island Haven Animal Sanctuary is pleased to announce their “Treasured Tails” Summer Program for young readers. Based on the “Horse Powered Reading®” curriculum, “Treasured Tails” allows children to identify stumbling blocks that get in the way of understanding, experience learning in an outdoor environment, connect with a horse as their “book”, and reflect on their experiences in the moment to create new patterns of learning.
July Artwalk this Friday in downtown Anacortes
Come downtown for The First Friday Artwalk this Friday, July 5th from 6pm. Dwight Ueda will be presenting three photographic images at the Majestic: a Milky Way landscape from Canyonlands NP, a rising moon over Mt. Baker, and a Japanese maple in fall. Each image is printed on a different medium (metal, silver brushed metal, and acrylic) chosen specifically for how it renders the image. Dwight will be at the Majestic to discuss the images.
National headlining comedians in Friday Harbor this summer.
On Saturday, July 6, Burien resident Scott Losse will be at Madrone Cellars for a 7 p.m. show. Scott Is a mainstay in the Seattle comedy scene. He is married and has two chihuahuas. His DryBar special has garnered millions of views and he’s worked a handful of times at Bumbershoot. He was a finalist in the Seattle International Comedy Competition twice. Recently, Scott has gained a social media following, with more than 30,000 Instagram followers. His reels about everyday life have millions of views!
