Woman rescued from vehicle after 50-foot fall off Mount Baker Highway
First responders rescued the driver of a vehicle that had driven off the road and plummeted 50 feet off Mount Baker Highway on Wednesday night. The driver was conscious in the vehicle but she was stuck because it had rolled over. Rescuers were able to free her after about 45 minutes, and helped her back up to the road using rope gear, according to Fire District 14 Chief Jerry DeBruin. District 19 also responded to the incident, according to DeBruin.
Classic car and motorcycle show rolls into downtown Edmonds Sept. 8

DNA evidence leads to arrest in 44-year-old cold case murder in Kent
KING COUNTY, Wash. — A 65-year-old man in Van Buren County, Arkansas was arrested and charged for allegedly killing a woman in Kent in 1980. Kenneth Duane Kundert was charged with first-degree murder on Aug. 20 in King County Superior Court for the death of Dorothy Silzel. The state has requested bail be set at $3 million.
