Four people were killed and nine others were injured after a minivan plowed through a nail salon in a strip mall on Long Island, according to officials. The crash occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Friday on Grand Boulevard in Deer Park, officials said, as the minivan slammed into the Hawaii Nail & Spa. The vehicle went through the front of the beauty business and nearly came out the other side of it, a fire official said, indicating it may have crashed at a high speed.

Woman dies after house fire in northwest Chicago suburb
CHICAGO (CBS) — A woman died in a house fire in suburban Elk Grove Village overnight. According to the Elk Grove Village fire chief, firefighters found the woman, identified as Cindy Goodwin, 62, inside a burning house on Wilshire Avenue around midnight. Responded entered the burning house through windows.After efforts to revive he, Goodwin died at the scene. No firefighters were injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Officers arrived on scene at 2:47 AM. Officers observed approximately 40 protestors gathered in the public right-of-way. Protestors carried banners and shouted pro-Palestinian and antisemitic chants using loudspeakers and drums. Officers immediately began de-escalation and dispersal of the crowd.

A Woodstock woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries after striking a train on Seeman Road in Union early this morning. McHenry County Sheriff’s Police, McHenry County Conservation Police, Marengo Fire and Rescue Districts, Union Fire Protection District, and Union Pacific responded to a call for a crash involving a 2017 Honda Civic and a Union Pacific train at about 7:01 a.m. today.
