On Sunday June 23rd my husband and I took our son fishing at Lake Becerra. Papa (my father in law) usually takes him and this was the first time we had taken him in a while, and the first time since my Dad passed in January. My son brought a new pole and a pole that Grandpa had given him. The pole my Dad gave him is the one he usually uses, but he wanted to try the new one. The new pole almost immediately had an issue and he couldn’t use it. I admit I was happy he had to use Dad’s pole instead. Moments later I turned my head and saw this heart on the tree. I never heard of this project before this and obviously don’t know the person that made it, but I hope they get to see this. It felt like I was meant to find this heart and find it at that moment. Felt like Dad was there with us. Thank you so much.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Anyone who plays golf knows it can be an extremely frustrating game. But what if you could turn that frustration into pure fun?. Well, perhaps that’s why Topgolf has become such a popular destination, a place where golfers of all ages and abilities are choosing to go, rather than visiting only a traditional golf course or driving range.
“The Hot Wing King”
***** When I saw the name of the play that Writers Theatre was ending their 2023/2024 season with, I was unsure as to the nature of what it might be about ( except food). “The Hot Wing King” written by Katori Hall, is a very funny play that also has a great deal of heart and soul. Those who have attended Writers over the years know that high quality is what you get and while the stories cover a lot of territory, there is always something in the story that leaves a lasting impression.

‘Beehive’ Offers a Musical Celebration of Women’s Liberation in the 1960s: Review
Let’s hear it for the girls, and for the 1960s — a decade of liberation and change, change, change, especially for American women. What’s more, given the current political chaos in this country, and throughout the world, there could be no better time to celebrate an era that unfolded years ago, and can now sometimes seem as if it is being undermined.
Holistic Skin Care From the Inside Out
As the largest organ in the body, our skin works overtime to protect us. Its intricate structure is a barrier against ultraviolet (UV) light, pathogens, chemicals and other environmental threats. With so much exposure and so many duties, our skin requires constant maintenance. Meena Malhotra, M.D., is the medical director at Heal n Cure, an integrative facility in Glenview that specializes in functional medicine. She says that nourishing our skin from the inside out helps to leave skin looking and feeling healthy. “Oxidation, age, diet and other lifestyle habits can all affect skin quality, but there are a number of holistic ways to reverse or prevent the damage,” she says.
