He doesn't want his name published out of fear of retaliation because this isn't the first time this officer has been accused of wrongdoing.
Fire destroys townhouse in Pingree Grove, 4 treated for injuries
PINGREE GROVE, Ill. (CBS) -- A fire destroyed one townhouse and damaged several others Wednesday in far northwest suburban Pingree Grove.Two civilians, one firefighter, and one police officer were injured—but all were treated on the scene, Pingree Grove & Countryside Fire Protection District Deputy Chief Chris Howell. The fire started Wednesday afternoon in a five-unit townhouse building at 2465 Bella Dr. in Pingree Grove.One townhouse in the building was destroyed in the fire, while three were damaged and one was unaffected, Howell said.Four or five townhouse units across the alley were also damaged.All the units were closed off late Wednesday because of smoke, Howell said.The fire remained under investigation late Wednesday.
Man found fatally shot on Albany Park sidewalk
CHICAGO — A man found unresponsive on a sidewalk in Albany Park early Tuesday was shot to death, officials say. Officers responding to calls of a person down found the 59-year-old Evanston man lying near a strip mall in the 3300 block of West Lawrence around 2:37 a.m. Chicago Fire Department personnel attempted to save the man, but he succumbed to his injuries at Swedish Hospital a short time later.
