CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy has been charged with 14 felonies in connection with a violent crime spree on Sunday, as well as an attempted hijacking in June. The boy was part of a group that carjacked and robbed four people in the 1900 block of West Irving Park around 5:40 a.m. Sunday, according to CPD. As CWBChicago reported that morning, a carjacker driving a white car pulled in front of the victim’s Mazda CX3 to block their path, and two gunmen got out, took the victims’ valuables, and then drove away with the Mazda. CPD said the victims were two 22-year-old men and a man and a woman who were both 21.

CHICAGO — A man found unresponsive on a sidewalk in Albany Park early Tuesday was shot to death, officials say. Officers responding to calls of a person down found the 59-year-old Evanston man lying near a strip mall in the 3300 block of West Lawrence around 2:37 a.m. Chicago Fire Department personnel attempted to save the man, but he succumbed to his injuries at Swedish Hospital a short time later.
