Windsor Village Board trustees to run unopposed in April
Only two seats on the Windsor Village Board are set to be up for election this spring. Trustees Ed Wall and Monica Smith both have elected to run as incumbents to retain their positions on the board. No other residents filed candidacy papers by the Tuesday, Jan. 2 deadline to challenge either trustee. This means that, barring a successful campaign from a write-in candidate, both Wall and Smith will be reelected to their roles as trustees. Residents can expect to see both of their names on their ballots when election day arrives on Tuesday, April 2.
Windsor bank building served many over the years
The Windsor State Bank was constructed in 1914 on the north side of Main Street, west of the Stark’s General Store. The bank served the financial needs of area individuals, businesses and farmers for several years. During the late 1920s, the state banking commission became involved in helping the bank with the challenges precipitated by the financial depression. In 1929, the stockholders voted to merge assets with the bank of DeForest. All business and assets were transferred to the DeForest site. The building stood empty for a few years following and then was occupied by a tavern and other businesses in the 1940. It was later converted into a residence. Today is it the building for Windsor Breads Bakery and Coffee House. This photograph was taken about 1915.

Taylor stated that he and his wife plan on moving closer to their families in Columbia County next year. He hopes choosing not to run will avoid putting the board in a similar position to when he was...
