To start the season, the DeForest girls’ soccer team split with the two Sun Prairie schools, blanking West 4-0 and falling 2-1 to East.

On Friday, Olivia Turnquist and Marissa Thiel had two goals apiece against West, as Rylan Oberg, Karina Kuzdas and McKenzie Brandl notched assists.

“Overall, a good weekend with some tough luck versus East after controlling possession for the bulk of the game and outshooting them 11-3,” said DeForest head coach Tim Esser. “Ball movement and defense was solid both games but just couldn’t seem to find the back of the net on Saturday.”

The Norskies had a tough time breaking through against East, as Oberg scored DeForest’s lone goal in the loss.

At 1-1, the Norskies were slated to host Reedsburg on Monday.
